One of the cover girls for the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue is Martha Stewart.
The 81-year-old lifestyle entrepreneur is the oldest swimsuit model the publication has ever used, and they describe this as “historic.”
Stewart said of her cover photo on Monday’s “Today” show, “I like that picture.”
For the session, Stewart posed in the Dominican Republic and is seen in ten different outfits.
Stewart said, ‘And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.’
When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought-
‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated.”
Stewart added, giggling on TODAY as she stood next to her ultra-glam cover photo with disheveled hair and a light, summery vibe-
“I like that picture.” I’m shaking a little bit since it seems strange to travel to an island and then change into nine different bathing costumes in one day in front of everyone, but everything worked out okay.”
Hoda said, “It worked out more than OK.”
She enquired of the homemaking tycoon how the lovely cover was created.
Stewart informed the co-anchors that she needed to be prepared to pose by the end of January when the concept was first forth to her in November of last year.

In a behind-the-scenes promotional film, Stewart claims that landing a bikini cover was a rare opportunity and not motivated by her typical professional goals.
Sports Illustrated referred to the cover in a tweet as “epic.”

At the age of 15, Stewart began her modeling career. Later, she worked as a stockbroker on Wall Street and launched a catering company, which expanded into a lifestyle media company.
Stewart’s more recent social media modeling has drawn attention, especially for a selfie she posted in 2020 of herself in a pool.
