Some years down the line, the year 2023 might get seen as the year of the generative AI revolution. The time when, one after the other, some powerful first language-processing chatbots came into the world of technology.

Well, this can only be confirmed in 2028, maybe.

So, quickly coming back to 2023, Google has launched its advanced generative AI chatbot in India and many other countries.

Yes, you heard it right. Finally, Google Bard launched in India!

The giant company has removed its waitlist and greenlit the open access of Google Bard AI to over 180 countries, India being one of them.

According to multiple tech experts, Google Bard AI can be one of the biggest rivals of Open AI’s already-flourishing ChatGPT.

Well, nothing can be said explicitly right now. But at least we can try to wrap our heads around it.

Also, is Google Bard better than ChatGPT? What do you think?

Let’s try to explore this right here with some powerful examples!

But, before moving further with this whole Bard vs. ChatGPT scene, let’s first walk through some of the basics, ensuring we are all on the same page.

What Is Google Bard AI All About, and How Can It Help You?

Here’s what the Google Bard says itself when we prompt the same in it:

Google Bard is a large language model chatbot developed by Google AI. It is based on the LaMDA family of large language models and, later, the PaLM LLM.

Bard is trained on a massive dataset of text and code and can generate text, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer your questions in an informative way. It is still under development, but it has learned to perform many kinds of tasks, including

I will try my best to follow your instructions and complete your requests thoughtfully, and use my knowledge to answer your questions in a comprehensive and informative way, even if they are open-ended, challenging, or strange.

I generate different creative text formats of text content, like poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, emails, and letters, and will try my best to fulfill all your requirements.

Bard is still under development, and it is not always perfect. It can sometimes make mistakes, and it may not always be able to answer your questions in a way that is helpful or informative. However, Bard is constantly learning and improving, and it is a powerful tool that can be used for a variety of tasks.

Here are some of the things that Bard can do:

Answer your questions in an informative way, even if they are open-ended, challenging, or strange.
Generate different creative text formats of text content, like poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, emails, letters, etc.
Translate languages.
Write different kinds of creative content.
Help you with your work or studies.
Be a companion and friend.
Bard is a powerful tool that can be used for a variety of tasks. It is still under development, but it is learning and improving all the time. If you are looking for a helpful and informative companion, Bard is a great option.

How To Access Google Bard AI?

It’s a simple process overall. You just have to follow these steps to get access to Bard:

  • Go to
  • Sign up using your Gmail account.
  • I agree to the terms and conditions.
  • And here’s your access to Google Bard AI.

If you are logging into the Bard for the very first time, you will also come across a prompt from Google saying,

“I’m Bard, your creative and helpful collaborator. I have limitations and won’t always get it right, but your feedback will help me improve.

“Not sure where to start? You can try:

Tell me about the code within the Google/Jax GitHub repo.

Write some lyrics for a heartbreak anthem titled “Lovesick.”

What’s a fast, balanced, vegetarian meal for me to make? It should be high in protein and fiber. “

You can also read an introductory message by Bard, which reads as follows:

Bard is still in its experimental phase. Chatting with it and rating its responses will help improve the experience.

Google Bard vs. ChatGPT

Google Bard was not initially open for access in India. But, recently, Google Bard launched in India, and now Indians can also use Bard and try to figure out its features, especially comparing them with ChatGPT.

So, this whole tussle between Google Bard and ChatGPT is not something new but has been ongoing since February, when Google announced the Bard AI chatbot for the first time.

And, now when Google Bard launched in India, everyone is talking about Bard overpowering the ChatGPT.

Thus, after using both language-generative AI chatbots, here is our analysis of Google Bard vs. ChatGPT.

We can tell you in advance, though; it’s not a lose-lose situation. Both language-processing chatbots have their advantages and disadvantages as of now.

It is not a clean sweep in most ways.

Also, we can’t forget that both platforms are currently evolving and in a state of many changes and transformations.

So, here are our two cents on which features are better in Google Bard and ChatGPT and what can be done differently with both AI tools:

Real-time information:

Google Bard has the upper hand in comparison to ChatGPT, as it can extract real-time information for users. Also, to let you know, there’s an extra feature of “Google it” provided in the Bard, making it easy-breezy for you to find information if you are not able to get the same from the tool itself.

Google Bard features

However, when it comes to real-time information, according to our experiences, the information provided by the Bard, especially the latest news or information, can’t be trusted blindly right now.

For example, when we were prompted about the latest Taylor Swift news in Google Bard, it showed us some of the latest but most of the old pieces of information about the singer.

And, when it comes to ChatGPT, this feature is not in their framework right now. When we made the same prompt in this AI chatbot, it showed us something like this:

“I’m sorry, but as an AI language model, I don’t have access to real-time news updates. My training only goes up until September 2021, so I cannot provide the latest world news. I recommend checking reliable news sources such as news websites, television news channels, or social media platforms to get the most up-to-date information on current world events.”

ChatGPT features

So, comparatively, Google Bard is slightly ahead of ChatGPT in this case. It has a “Google it” feature, allowing you to access the internet with the Generative AI, but the same is not possible with ChatGPT yet.

Enlisting resources:

Another metric that we used to try to figure out the tilting weight of Google Bard vs. ChatGPT was whether these tools could help us find credible resources.

For example, we made a prompt on the top lifestyle publications with their links, and here’s what we found on Google Bard:

“Here are some of the top lifestyle publications, along with their links:

Vogue (
Cosmopolitan (
Glamour (
Elle (
InStyle (
People (
Entertainment Weekly (
The New Yorker (
National Geographic (
Wired (
These magazines cover a wide range of topics, including fashion, beauty, health, relationships, entertainment, travel, and food. They offer readers inspiration, advice, and information on how to live their best lives.”

And, here’s what we found on ChatGPT-

“here are some well-regarded lifestyle publications, along with their website links:

Vogue: A renowned fashion and lifestyle magazine covering topics such as fashion, beauty, culture, and more. Website:

GQ (Gentlemen’s Quarterly): A men’s lifestyle magazine featuring fashion, style, grooming, entertainment, and lifestyle articles. Website:

Harper’s Bazaar: A fashion and lifestyle magazine covering fashion trends, beauty, culture, travel, and lifestyle topics. Website:

ELLE: A global lifestyle magazine focusing on fashion, beauty, celebrity, culture, and lifestyle trends. Website:

Town & Country: A publication known for its coverage of high society, fashion, travel, arts, and culture. Website:

Architectural Digest: A magazine that showcases interior design, architecture, home decor, and lifestyle. Website:

Travel + Leisure: A travel magazine covering destinations, hotels, resorts, restaurants.”

So, in this case, there was a tie for us. Both platforms provided good resources for our prompts. However, Google Bard was a bit faster and more in-depth than ChatGPT—at least, that’s what we felt and came across.

Moreover, as both AI chatbots are continually evolving and changing, these features and their responses to them can’t be said to be set in stone.

Incorrect information:

Well, according to our prompts and the time we invested in both of the generative AI tools, we can say that the probability of incorrect information is somewhere present with both platforms.

And that’s not something that should shock you. Both platforms show you the consent dialogue box in advance, alerting you about the current limitations of both AI tools.

Saved history access:

In the case of ChatGPT, you can not only save the prompt responses generated but also access them in the left-side menu. However, this feature is a bit different when it comes to Google Bard AI.

There’s a “Bard Activity” option available along the left side of the platform, which redirects you to a different window. From where you can access all your previous prompts and responses. Plus, it allows you to auto-delete your tool history.

Other highlighted features:

This tug of war can be seen as a bit tilted towards Google Bard if we take its voice prompts and the ability to export your prompts into Google Docs and Gmail into consideration.

These cool and handy attributes are not yet available with ChatGPT, making it a bit less advanced than Google Bard AI. Besides, one of the biggest strengths of Bard that we realized was also its speed, making this go in its favor by a hair.

Yes, we also found Google Bard to be more speedy than ChatGPT.

Wrapping It Up-

Eventually, it can be a bit early to pass any ultimate judgment on Google Bard vs. ChatGPT. As we have shown above, both platforms have their strengths and weaknesses.

And, most importantly, both AI tools are going through a lot of changes. So, there’s a lot to come in the future, and things can turn around completely differently than we are perceiving them right now.

But now that Google Bard has launched in India and other 180 countries, people have a lot of time in their hands to analyze and comprehend the functioning and expertise of both language-processing chatbots.

So, what are your opinions on Google Bard AI? Have you tried to compare the features of Google Bard vs. ChatGPT, or vice-versa? Let us know. Would love to hear from you!
