Jarod W. Hendrick, a 42-year-old resident of Oak Hill, has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking ring operating in Fayette County. Hendrick was found guilty of conspiracy to deliver fentanyl and over 50 grams of methamphetamine. He will have to serve 15 years before becoming eligible for parole.

Circuit Judge Thomas H. Ewing, who presided over the case, described Hendrick as a significant participant in the drug trafficking organization. This group facilitated the expansion of out-of-state drug dealers into Fayette County, causing significant harm to the community and its citizens.

Hendrick was the live-in boyfriend of Heather Hewitt, the leader of the drug trafficking organization. Hewitt was sentenced to up to 90 years in prison in May for her involvement in the operation.
An investigation by the Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force:
The Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force launched an investigation into the drug trafficking organization in June 2021. Their findings revealed that Hewitt was the leader, with assistance from others, including Hendrick. The task force utilized a confidential informant to make controlled purchases of methamphetamine and fentanyl from the traffickers.
Involvement in Distribution and Transportation:
From August 2021 to February 2022, Hendrick played a role in the distribution of large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl. He was also involved in transporting substantial amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine into the state.
Jarod W. Hendrick’s Arrest and Seized Evidence:
Hendrick was arrested on February 19, 2022, and found to be in possession of over one pound of fentanyl, two pounds of methamphetamine, approximately three ounces of cocaine, $125,172 in cash, digital scales, and five firearms.
Furthermore, additional cash was seized from other locations, totaling over $250,000. Ledgers found at the residence of Hendrick and Hewitt documented the distribution of more than 14 pounds of controlled substances.
