Shaquille O’Neal: When Shaquille O’Neal published a picture of himself in a hospital bed on Twitter on Sunday night, the “NBA on TNT” analyst alarmed followers. O’Neal underwent surgery for a bothersome hip problem over the weekend, according to TMZ on Monday.

O’Neal addressed his fellow TNT co-hosts Ernie Johnson and Candace Parker in a message but withheld further information regarding his ostensible hospitalization. O’Neal said, “I miss y’all and am always watching @TurnerSportsEJ and @Candace Parker.
Parker retweeted the image and added the message: “Love ya, big Fella.” Parker joined the Las Vegas Aces in February. Johnson had not given an open response as of Monday morning.
Roy Hibbert, a former NBA center, enquired, “U good big man?” Following suit, several Twitter users enquired about O’Neal’s health while a large number of others offered congratulations and encouraging remarks. As of Monday, the trending image had received over 34,000 likes and over 6.5 million views.
O’Neal watched the Big 12 basketball tournament championship game between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Texas Longhorns earlier this month at the T-Mobile Arena from courtside. During the game, the NBA icon shook hands at the scorer’s table with veteran commentator Dick Vitale. The two were seen grinning.
O’Neal, who turned 51 last month, celebrated his birthday on March 10 with a “Sneaker Ball” party at The Bank in Atlanta, Georgia.
During his party, which had a red carpet and a black-tie dress code with the exception of “fly kicks,” the four-time NBA champion wore a suit jacket with a rose print and diamond chains.
O’Neal spoke candidly about his weight loss metamorphosis last year, stating that his “NBA on TNT” co-host, Charles Barkley, had inspired him to lose weight. “I try to create ridiculous motivation,” O’Neal remarked during an appearance on Logan Paul’s “Impulsive” podcast.
“I was looking at myself and I had that Charles Barkley retirement body. “I didn’t want my stomach to be over the belt anymore. So I simply thought, “Let me go ahead and get skinny.” Now that it has gone viral, I have to live up to it. O’Neal was alluding to a now-viral Instagram video clip he posted that featured his abs.
