Due to a rumored back ailment, Orton has not appeared on WWE TV since 2022. It now appears that the damage may be so bad that Orton will never compete again.

Recently, Bob Orton Jr., Randy Orton’s father, confirmed to Sportskeeda that although his son has been training for a comeback to the ring, it might not actually happen.

Bob Orton Jr. stated during the interview that he believes the doctors have recommended Randy not wrestle again.

If this is true, Orton might not receive a medical clearance from WWE, which would place him on extended hiatus.

Here’s what Bob Orton said on Randy Ortan’s retirement verbatim in an Interview with WristleBing with Sportskeeda.-

“He’s training, so we’ll see what happens; I don’t know. If he feels like going back or he feels like he’s ready to go back, I think he might. Then again, he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs to. And I think the doctors have told him not to. But Randy will do what Randy wants to do.”

Well, there have been numerous instances of wrestlers being forced into early retirement because their physicians at WWE didn’t give them the all-clear.

Wrestlers like Edge, Daniel Bryan, and Paige were affected in the past, but all three have since made a comeback in the sport.

In truth, Paige is presently performing in the rival promotion AEW as Saraya, and Edge and Daniel Bryan have both participated in a WrestleMania main event after their initial retirements.

Therefore, there is some hope still left that even if Orton has taken a long break, he might eventually make a comeback.

Besides, the current superstar was “nowhere close” to making a comeback, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter from April.

Additionally, if physicians really did advise Orton not to compete again, WWE might not give him a medical clearance after all.
