On a million-dollar chartered journey Sunday, the first Saudi Arabian astronauts in decades launched towards the International Space Station.
To let you know, they are the first citizens of their nation to launch on a rocket since a Saudi prince took off in 1985 aboard the space shuttle Discovery.
And most importantly, this event is such a historic one because a stem cell researcher, Rayyanah Barnawi, has become the first female astronaut from Saudi Arabia to ever rocket to the International Space Station.
Ali al-Qarni, a fighter pilot with the Royal Saudi Air Force, joined her in this historic departure to the International Space Station.

SpaceX Sends Saudi Astronauts, Including The Nation’s Woman, Rayyanah Barnawi
On a million-dollar chartered journey Sunday, the first Saudi Arabian astronauts in decades launched towards the International Space Station.
Besides, a veteran NASA astronaut who is now employed by the organization that organized the journey from Kennedy Space Centre led the crew of ticket holders as they were launched by SpaceX.
To let you know, a U.S. businessman who now runs a sports car racing team is also on board.
According to sources, the four should reach the space station on Monday morning in their capsule.
Also, following reports, they’ll stay there for just over a week before returning to Earth with a splashdown off the coast of Florida.
The most wonderful essence of this event is Rayyanah Barnawi, a stem cell researcher, became the first Saudi Arabian woman to travel to space thanks to sponsorship from the Saudi government.
Also, Ali al-Qarni, a fighter pilot with the Royal Saudi Air Force, joined her. They are the first citizens of their nation to launch on a rocket since a Saudi prince took off in 1985 aboard the space shuttle Discovery.
“Hello from outer space! It feels amazing to be viewing Earth from this capsule,” Rayyanah Barnawi stated after settling into orbit.
Added al-Qarni also said-
“As I look outside into space, I can’t help but think this is just the beginning of a great journey for all of us.”

John Shoffner, a former racer and owner of a sports car racing company that competes in Europe, and chaperone Peggy Whitson, the station’s first female commander and the holder of the American record for the greatest total time spent in space (665 days and counting), round out the visiting crew.
Peggy Whitson after reaching orbit said, while her crewmates clapped their hands in joy-
“It was a phenomenal ride.”
Well, it’s Houston-based Axiom Space’s second private mission to the space station.
In case you don’t know, the first was done by three businesspeople and a veteran NASA astronaut last year.
In a few more years, the firm intends to begin constructing its own rooms at the station, eventually removing them to create a standalone outpost that may be rented.
Shoffner and Saudi Arabia might be paying for the anticipated 10-day mission, but Axiom has not disclosed any information about it yet.
The business has previously stated that each ticket would cost something around $55 million. So, you never know!
